Playback Voice : Rampyari in Hindi films - A personal research view

Rampyari , without any hesitation; was an amazing voice utilized in films for playback. She litterally sounds like Zohrabai of Ambalewali, the reigning voice of the 40s decade with many MDs of that period like Naushad, Gulam Mohd, Gulam Hyder, Vasant Desai etc.

Rampyari's voice when heard closely runs almost parallel to that of Zohrabai - sharp & high pitched . Rampyari's rendition style appeared to have  an edge over her rival colleague. Zohra was a very popular singing artiste amongst the masses while Rampyari remained confined only in a couple of films.

It was MD : Mohan Jr who first happened to utilize Rampyari's voice in an obscure film AJAMIL  ('48) which had about 15 and odd songs - all of them unlisted and no details either in GK-II or on the original Young India 78 rpm records.

After a painstaking research of trial-n-error over the years, it is now well established that Rampyari has sung six (6) solos in AJAMIL ('48) and a solo and duet in another film KINARA ('49) under MD : Madhusudhan Acharya.

Enlightening the avid music connoisseurs in word-n-deed, here are 2 clips of Rampyari for your awareness.
